Joshua, you are correct - you need  DB2 7.2 as stated on the Web site:
http://www.tivoli.com/support/storage_mgr/san/lanfree.html

DB2 V 7.2 FP #5 and above provides TSM Lan-Free backup. It is supported on
all DB2 server platforms that have the TSM 4.2 API. Note: There is no TSM
API for Intel 64 bit yet.
