If there is anyone using the MAC client can you please enlighten me as to
how it is configured and works.



Configuration is like the other clients.
(No admin client, macintosh file naming conventions, no command line.)

Are there problems or configuration concerns?


Works fine (newest versions 3.7.x have a scheduling problem, see archives.)

Is it also using TCP/IP to communicate?


yes.
