Multiple Sessions

All,
Yesterday I posted a problem we're having on the network. I was called at
home in the middle of the night of the same problems so I cancelled all the
sessions and the network was usable again. I noticed duplicate sessions on
one of the clients, and I've also seen this before quite a few times. I'm
wondering if this is related to the network problem or some other reason.
Yesterday morning when this was going on I noticed it too, I killed all the
sessions and the day went smooth since backups are scheduled to start at 8PM
each day. I was called at home about 6 PM last night for the same network
problem and noticed sessions running on some clients again, the same ones I
had cancelled earlier in the morning, a duplicate one there too. Nobody
manually kicked off these backups, so I don't understand why they would have
started on their own at a time when nothing was supposed to be happening
with ADSM.
Anyone dealt with anything like this before???
