Thank goodness I have never had to use the
STGNEW, STGDELETE, and STGREUSE records, but I do know what
they are for. These were the first values in volhist when that table was
introduced in version 1's midlife. Their purpose is for you to MANUALLY
resync your tape management system with the ADSM db after the db was
restored to a some number of days ago version.

If you had to do that, you would take STGNEW volumes recorded after the
restore date and return them to scratch in the tms. You would pray that
the tms hadn't let STGDELETE volumes be overwritten because now ADSM had
good data on them again. If they had been overwritten you would do 'del
vol volser discarddata=yes' on the volumes.
STGREUSE volumes are volumes which are explicitly defined to ADSM (which
is what I do). Any volumes reused after the restore date would have to be
handled.

This was before 'reusedelay' was added in v2; this parameter, if set
correctly to be in sync with the maximum number of days you would restore
the db to, makes STGNEW, STGDELETE, and STGREUSE irrelevant.
