ADSM Connect Agent for MS Exchange 1.1.00B
ADSM Server for AIX 3.1.2.42

We retired a number of Exchange Servers as we moved from 5.0 to 5.5

In order to expire the old backups, I attempted to run a batch file which
would "impersonate" the retired Exchange node and then execute the
excdsmc /autodelete:* /ifolder:35 .....

the dsm.opt file that I use (satadsm2.opt) does not contain the nodename of
the node that I am attempting to delete from since I am specifiying it in
the command line.

However when I do this I get returned.

11/05/1999 11:21:51,COMMAND LINE : excdsmc /adsmautodelete:* /ifolder:35
/adsmnode:CA_EXCHANGE55 /adsmoptfile:satadsm2.opt /adsmpwd:CA_EXCHANGE55
11/05/1999 11:21:52,Results: 0 backup object(s) of 0 examined were deleted.

The weird thing is that I can bring up the GUI. There are backups that are
older than 35 days and I can manually delete them.

Why does the gui work and not the command line?

I checked the management class on the ADSM Server and the settings are
correct. I also checked the activity log on the ADSM Server. All I see are
connects and disconnects from the Exchange node.

Anyone any ideas?

Nathan
