ADSM Win32 Client 3.1.0.6
ADSM Server AIX 3.1.2.42

Scheduled backups are failing for different reasons for the same file even
when moved to a different drive...

11/03/1999 09:31:01 Normal File-->    26,392,294,912
\\iapsql\g$\sqlddump\sentry_db_199911011830.BAK  ** Unsuccessful **
11/03/1999 09:31:10 ANS1028S Internal program error. Please see your
service representative.

File was then moved to h: drive...

11/03/1999 19:09:08 Normal File-->    26,377,698,816
\\iapsql\h$\sqlddump\sentry_db_199911021830.BAK  ** Unsuccessful **
11/03/1999 19:09:14 ANS1028S Internal program error. Please see your

The dsmerror.log is reporting an RC 1450 which suggest a lack of system
resources... So we tried the memoryefficient option but to no avail. We then
rebooted the server but that didn't help either.

Funny thing is this..
I go to the command prompt and interactively backup the file in question.
After about 2 seconds of processing I get the Internal Program error,
however if I immediately execute the backup command again, the backup
actually works.

I decided to abort about the backup about 70% of the way through the
transaction.

I tried again about 10minutes later and again the same behaviour - at first
an internal program error but the second time no error.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? Incidentally the same behaviour
occurred when I installed the 3.1.0.7 client also.
The Activity log on the server does not show anything of any particular
interest.. just session starts and session ends.

I have IBM working on it, but they are a bit baffled also.
