Correction. From the dsmc> prompt, after entering help, select 19 for
the
"restore" syntax. Select 20 for the "retrieve" syntax.

   Yes Debbie.

The following command is executed in (adev) to restore files that
were archived using the "archive" command.

   ret -fromn=aprd -fromd=10/27/1999 -tod=10/27/1999 /aprd_filesystem/
   /adev_filesystem/ -su=yes

Or, from the dsmc> prompt, enter help, then select 18(restore from
   backup),
19(retrieve from archive). This will give you the syntax and options
   for
   the restore and retrieve commands.

   Hope that helps.

      Subject: AIX Restore

I want to restore a file system that was backed up on a
      production box
(aprd) to a new file system on a development box, (adev).
We are using AIX, ADSM server 3.1.2.30, and ADSM client 3.1.0.5
Is it possible to restore a backup created on one machine to
      another
      machine?

      Regards,

      Debbie
