If the requirement is to keep a snapshot of the system as it existed
at a given point in time, how about using the "EXPORT NODE" command
with the "FILEDATA=ALLACTIVE" option.
This will cut a set of tapes with the backup image of the machine(s)
at a given point in time.
To restore off the exported tapes, you would need to first IMPORT NODE
them to an ADSM server.
