With respect to tape contention...
In one of my responses yesterday I described an environment doing three
simultaneous restores. During the restore, each of the three jobs would
periodically issue a "waiting for offline media" message and then continue.
We did not have collocation turned on so the data from the three drive we
were restoring was probably on the same tapes. I believe there were three
tapes mounted. Is it possible for ADSM to share access to the three
volumes that were mounted? That is, one stream access one tape for a time,
and then another and another.
I think that's what I saw, but I don't know if that is possible.
Thanks,
Kelly Lipp
