When a filespace is backed up to a policy set with multiple management
classes, ADSM chooses the management class whose backup copy group has the
longest retention period under which to store directory information.  So,
if you were to change or remove the management class with this criteria, I
would think directories that were bound to that class might have a problem.
 There is rebinding that would go on, but I'm not sure of the rebinding
details.  Perhaps someone can explain those details here.
