Hello all,

Bob asked some very good questions over a month ago with no responses. Now
that Summer is over I thought I'd give it another try...

(Bob, if anyone mailed you directly, would you please be so kind as to copy
me on the response.)

We now apparently have 4 places where Include/Exclude statements can be
specified (on UNIX): dsm.sys, dsm.opt, a file pointed to by INCLEXCL, and a
Client Option Set. Also, order of processing is critically important to
controlling the use of INCLUDE and EXCLUDE statements (except for
EXCLUDE.DIR and EXCLUDE.FS, but that's another story), so can someone in
product development or support please give us a detailed description of how
these are processed.

I could derive most of the answers from trial-and-error testing, but
without confirmation us administrators never feel 100% confidant about it.
For example, it appears that the "FORCE=NO" option for INCLEXCL is
meaningless because it (also) appears that client option settings are
processed before the local file entries are read. They "override" simply
because they are processed first.

Thanks,
