Sure... well, I haven't implemented it but give it a try it should
work... I TAKE THAT BACK... one of my servers has no major activity
so I tried it... all the defines went well
Just define an alternate device class... same as your existing one.
For one device class set the mountl=4 and on the other one set the
mountl=2 then it won't matter what drives are available it will only
use 4 for work with a destination of a storage pool with a deviceclass
of the mount limit of 4 and blah blah blah same for stuff leading to
the mount limit of 2.
later,
Dwight

Hi,
I want to know if anyone has tried this and if it can work or not...
We have 6 drives in our STK9714 library, I want to know if I can assign
2 of the 6 tape drives to be used for making an offsite copy pool. So
the normal scheduled backups are done on 4 of the drives and the offsite
copy pool is made with the other 2.
Would this work?
Thanks in advance,
Shane
