This makes perhaps a bad assumption that the ADSM mirror is more complex
than a logical block by logical block mirror.  Anyone from IBM want to wade
in and suggest that ADSM mirroring can detect and fix errors before it
moves data?

The ability to provide high speed mirroring in an application is
questionable.  I believe the original design goal of the mirroring within
ADSM was to provide the capability on those platforms that didn't have some
other form.
