You were a little sparse on your detail about your problem

I run  ADSM on AIX 4.1.4
during our DR test I had to enter the licenses several times!!!!
So I took the license.doc file
deleted all the extraneous lines leaving just the license codes
1 per line.
I inserted an  "X " before each code.
Then globally replaced X with
dsmadmc -id=admin -pass=[my password] reg lic

Then I saved the file and executed it as a script
That saved me lots of typing.
