Murray,
It sounds like you're using the Windows or OS/2 client. This was
the behavior that I am used to, however, within the SGI or AIX
(or any of the Unix-ish clients, I presume) environments this
behavior does not hold true.
I wonder if there are any plans to implement this type of
behavior in the Unix GUI clients.
