You won't get too much sympathy from me. We are struggling to get
more than 1.5 GB/hr total thruput on our MVS server. erl

Hi there!

Just another performance question:

We are using ADSM/AIX on a frame of an IBM SP2 (8-way SMP, 4 IBM 3590 =
drives).
We have different SP2 frames in different buildings. For the systems in =
the
frame of the Adsm server we use the HPS (high performance switch) for =
doing the
backups. All other systems in the other SPs are using ATM either =
directly or
routed over the HPS of their SP which depends on if they have an =
ATM-adapter or
not. Using BACKINT over HPS we reach about 40 GB/h with a system which =
is
located in the same frame like the ADSM server. Using HPS routed over =
ATM we
reach only around 20 GB/h.

Has anyone some idea where the bottleneck is when routing HPS over ATM? =
Any
performance figures?
