You won't get too much sympathy from me. We are struggling to get
more than 1.5 GB/hr total thruput on our MVS server. erl

Hi there!

Just another performance question:

We are using ADSM/AIX on a frame of an IBM SP2 (8-way SMP, 4 IBM 3590 drives).
We have different SP2 frames in different buildings. For the systems in the
frame of the Adsm server we use the HPS (high performance switch) for doing the
backups. All other systems in the other SPs are using ATM either directly or
routed over the HPS of their SP which depends on if they have an ATM-adapter or
not. Using BACKINT over HPS we reach about 40 GB/h with a system which is
located in the same frame like the ADSM server. Using HPS routed over ATM we
reach only around 20 GB/h.

Has anyone some idea where the bottleneck is when routing HPS over ATM? Any
performance figures?
