We have a very similar problem on our v2 server (also running on WARP
Server). It only happens on one drive, a DLT2000XT, there are 8MM drives
and a DLT library on the server which operate fine...

The problem occurs whenever a tape is unloaded from the drive. The
server will eventually continue processing if the drive is left empty or
will recover almost immediately if a tape is reloaded.

It may be worth noting that the DSMLABEL utility suffers from this
problem also.
