File ownership and permissions are controlled by the ADSM client
code, so a Version 1 vs. a Version 2 server should not affect this.

We have not heard of any problems with file permissions.
The Version 2 clients work fine with Version 1 servers in our tests,
so I would encourage you to call IBM Service.

We do know of a situation with directory (not file) ownerships
and permissions when the directories do not exist locally,
as is your case. This is described in APAR IC07282.
In essence, if root restores a whole machine, you should
use RESTORE -SUBDIR=YES on the command line without -PICK for
each filespace, or use Restore by Subdirectory Path on the GUI,
if you want the newly created local directory ownerships and permissions
to be the backed up directory attributes, rather than the
default attributes for root. In a future release, we plan to
force all restores except with -PICK to use the backed up attributes,
or perhaps make it selectable whether to use default or backed up
attributes.
