Hi,
today I tried to install my 1st hpux-Client on hp-station running hpux 9.0.
The installation and setup were no problem and the graphical- and
commandline interface works well.
On step 2, I tried to add a startup-line in /etc/rc, to startup the scheduler
automatically on every reboot. My first try was:
if [-x /usr/adsm/dsmc ]
/usr/adsm/dsmc schedule -password=xxxxxxx &
fi
After startup, dsmc started fine but after 10 seconds, the process
terminated with
>>>>>>>>>>>> Process Interrupted!! Severing connection. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<
message on the console screen.
On next, I tried to start dsmc from a little shell-script, with and without
nohup, but the process will die.
When I start dsmc on a terminal-window in the background, it works until the
window will be closed or a Ctl-C occurs !!!!!
All the time the dsmc-background process is runing, everybody logged on this
machine can see
the password in the process-list !!!!
I made this experiments with version 1.2.0.7 and 1.2.0.10.
Any hints to start dsmc automatically on startup without password in
process-list on hpux 9.0???
