Your comments are good and we will look into it.  In the meantime why don't
you setup more than 1 tape mount exit machine to handle the concurrent
requests?  Granted you could still queue if they are all in use, but the
situation should be minimized.  You can make sure this does not happen by
setting maximum number of tape drives the system uses, and then define that
many tape exit machines.

DEVCLASS Mountlimit= admin command for more detail on how to set this up.
You should be able to strike a balance here that meets your needs.
