Hi All,

Only on Win2003 servers (but not all of them) i have every day failed files in adsm.sys.

It's always EVENTLOG, WMI and xml.state

Does anyone know how to fix it?

We run client 5.2.3.0 and 5.2.3.4 on server 5.2.3.2

Tia,

exlude.dir ?:\adsm.sys

These files are backed up as part of the System Object anyways.

Curtis.

Hi Custew,

Are you sure about this?

Isn't it so that the adsm.sys ARE the System Objects?

Thanks for you answer.

Regards,

Maurice

I've got the exclude in my dsm.opt file and when I run an incremental backup "dsmc i", I see it backup the system object, and when I go into the GUI, the date backed up matches, and all the system object components are there. There's an article somewhere on the IBM website that mentions it. I think it's in an APAR of some sort. Can't recall. But, you can find it by searching the site long enough.

You can try that test for yourself on your PC.

Hi Custew,

You are COMPLETELY right...

C:\adsm.sys is obsolete in Win2003.

Thanks for your answer again, it's all clear now...

Maurice
