Where does q event get information?

Hi All,

does anyone know where "q event * * begind=today-4" gets its information from?



When I do a "select * from events" I would expect TSM to return all events (not expired by event retention), but it gives me only information for todays date.



If I do a "q event * * begind=today-4" I get the information for that day, but how can I access the same information with a select statement? I would like to do this to improve reporting in out TSM solutions.

I would also like to see the answer to this. I believe this is the only table in the DB that doesnt dump ALL its contents when you select * from it.

I beleive Q EVENTS gathers its info from the summary table. The events table is temporary and does not keep data for longer than a day. Don't quote me on this because Tivoli support has told me there are tables that they will never open up to querring.

nice to know. I thought it was some hidden table, but if it's the Summary table, I just have to make some statements looking it up there.
