VMware TSM licensing

We have an ESX server that has 8 guest servers.

We want to back up the guest servers.

Does TSM support backing up VMware guest servers?

Do we need licenses for each guest server?

This may depend on your licensing agreement with IBM, however you should be licensed by physical processor.



Our company exploited this situation to the maximum in our VMware environment. We have 20+ Virtual OS's running on our VMWare ESX servers and we only use a singe 8 processor license to back all of them up.



Since all of the virutalls use only 8 physical processors all together, that is all the licensing you need. It can save you a lot of cash!

I should also say that, yes, TSM does support VMWare ESX virtual host backups.
