vmware file-level restores

Hi all,

We have a VCB Server backing up VM machines.

Can Virtual Machine VM files be restore restored backed to the proxy server? If so how?

We have already completed the full restore VM backup. Using the (restore vm nodename command)

What about the files do they come back to the Proxy server automatically with the Full VM restore? then the converter is used?

Proxy is using TSM Client 6.1

if you want to restore only files and not the full vm you must perform also a VM File Level Backup.

then you must define in the dsm.opt file of the proxy server

ASNODENAME xxx

where xxx is the nodename of the virtual machine that you want to restore files. then when you open the TSM Client you will see all the files of the xxx virtual machine node

the full vm backup can also be restore from the gui. install first the 6.2 client

if you want to restore a Full VM into the Virtual Center you must use the VM Converter
