Using EMC Control Center and the TSM agent

Hey,

is anyone here using EMC Control Center and the backup agent for TSM to allow control center to manage/moniter TSM?

One of the SAN admins here wants to install the agent for my two TSM servers, and i am hesitant until i learn more about what it does..

it appears to just yank events out of the activity log pertaining to backup and restore jobs...
why he thinks he wants it, no idea?

anyone see any advantage to adding it, because from a high level, i dont see the advantage.

I don't know that tool but I guess the SAN admin want to install a monitoring tool to monitor the TSM operation .

I guess he wants also a central overview of your storage/backup environment for cap&perf purposes.
