I just installed the TSM4VE V6.4.0.2 on a VM Backup server and the first VM they asked me to back up is 9.3 TB in size. It is a file server. Needless to say it fails on the ANS1236E RC115 and there is nothing in the event logs of either the backup server or the VM they asked me to back up. Is there some sort of size limitation regarding the back up of a large VM like this? I have not seen anything in my searches so far.
Any one aware of this or should I just open a ticket with IBM?

I'm not aware but I would snapshot the VM excluding the data volume, then install BA for files in that.

I believe I have found a few issues here. It appears there were 9 disks attached to the VM and at least 2 of those disks exceeded the VMware limit of 2 TB. This could be why the attempted backups were failing.

I am experiencing the same issue right now.
