Hi,
if you are not familiar with the formating/initializing the DB/RLog volumes under the OS, here is a workaround.
After installation of the TSM on the new machine (target - restored TSM will run on this machine), initialize the first TSM instance (using TSM MMC) using "minimal configuration"
It asks only for the first DB and RLOG volumes to be created and few other (unimportant) questions.
When you have this instance running, use standard TSM commands to define new DB and RLOG volumes
def dbvol <filename> formatsize=<megabytes>
def logvol <filename> formatsize=<megabytes>
and assign the space to the DB and RLOG
extend DB <size>
extend log <size>
Make sure everything is ok (use "q db" and "q log")
Now you have new, initialized, assigned (and large enough) DB and RLOG volumes AND new dsmserv.dsk
Now halt this new instance (using HALT, or stop the service)
Copy the three important files in place (volhist.out, devconfig.out and dsmserv.opt)
and run "dsmserv restore db ....blahblahblah"
(you can omit the "-k server1" option - it takes the first instance by default)
Let us know the result
Harry
