We are running TSM server on AIX server.
If there is a disk failure on AIX box, we lose AIX server and TSM server. In this scenario, we need to restore AIX code and TSM code without the help of TSM backups. I have read redbooks on DRM. I have come up with this idea.
1. Take a one time backup of /usr/tivoli directory (and all its subdirectories). this is where tivoli is installed.
2. When there is a disk failure on AIX box, I can build AIX and then restore /usr/tivoli directory. After that, I can use DR plan file to restore all other information.
Please let me know if this is the right method.
thanks,
SNM
P.S: I have posted this to DRM forum. I don't know if people in this forum get a copy from that forum posting. sorry if this is a duplicate.
