Hello

i have setup TDP for VE, with vCenter plugin.

Backup of VM´s using direct SAN as transfer mode in BA Client works without any problems.

But when i use NBD for transfer i often get timeout, and the TSM server closes the session (i have read about COMMTIMEOUT in the trouble shouting section of the installation guide.)
at this point COMMTIMEOUT is set to: 600.

But these timeouts never occurs when using SAN as transfer mode, the backup of the virtual machine are done different when using SAN transfer option.
I run backup like this:
ESX storage>TDP for VE proxy>LAN to TSM server>TSM server to tape.

TSM Server version 6.2.3.0
BA Client: 6.3.0.06
TDP for VE: 6.3

we have 2 difrent type of SAN's used for VMware, both IBM, SW V7000 Unified and DS4700.

i want to avoid SAN access to the DS4700 from the new TDP VE Proxy.

No i havent¨t tried to increase the value since this works fine with the SAN option even if the time used by the backup job is even longer than with NBD.

Because the 2xDS4700 is on the way out, so it would be nice to use NBD for these systems, non SAN configuration change required
