TSM exchange clients failing....

Hi ALL,

The backup of the TSM client fails with the below error. please suggest me how to work on it. I am new to TSM.


[FONT=&quot]ANS1017E (RC-50) Session rejected: TCP/IP connection failure[/FONT]


Please let me know asap, as it shuold be resolved at the eariliest.

is this the first time it happened? if it's not look for the redbook "Using Tivoli Data Protection for Microsoft Exchange Server". Part number SG24-6147-00. I followed the instruction and all goes well.
 
You should check if the designated tcp port ("q opt tcpport", default is 1500) is open between your exchange and TSM Server.
You can issue a "telnet x.x.x.x 1500" and see if it connects. This should work from TSM Server to exchange as well.
You should also see your actlog for messages like "node name is locked".
 
i issued the command "q opt tcpport" and default port is 1500.
wat is the next step for investigating?.

The node is not locked.

Hi ALL,

thank you very much for your valuable replies. Issue was with the NIC card at the TSM server end. Now the backups are running fine.
