Hi ,

This is getting painful i'm sure im missing something simple but my restore keeps asking me to mount the volume - I cannot give any input to give it a checkin command so it fails without the tape.

I'm trying to go from a SCSI library to a Single Tape Drive for this DB restore

I've got the devconfig configured and picking up the tape drive successfully but what do i need to do to tell the dang thing my recovery tape is in the drive?!?!

I found an old thread about creating one of these lines for the tape but i have no idea what to put because the library is no longer SCSI?
/* LIBRARYINVENTORY SCSI MSL8096 IPY467L4 1083 101*/
/* LIBRARYINVENTORY MANUAL DRIVE1 HYM948L4 */

Help is appreciated

Command i run is
DSMSERV -k "Server1" restore db todate=11/12/2011 totime=10:22:26 source=dbb

Thats the thing - I cant type any input into the cmd window.
When i try to launch the dsmadmc it errors out saying a db restore is in progress.

I usually do a fresh instance and configure the device and do the tape mount (I hate to meddle with the devconfig.out) then I copy the devconfig.out and use it.

I've never had any problems doing that.

Hi,

2 cents - my experience with manual drives
The tape should not be in the drive when running the DB restore command - wait until the process asks for it and only then put the tape in.
