I am new to TSM and am setting up a new implementation of 6.1.2. I understand that we can use a copy storage pool to automatically make copies of the volumes in a primary storage pool, and then use DRM to vault the tapes in the copy pool.

Is there a simple way to implement something like this for the DBB volumes? In other words, if I want to keep two copies of each DBB set, so that one copy can be vaulted, is there a way to do this besides taking two backups in a row?

Generally in this situation, you can do full backups (which you vault) and snapshot backups (which you keep locally and don't vault) - or vice versa.

When you run the drm "prepare" command (to prepare a drplan), and when you issue move drm commands, you specify the "source" of the dr as being either dbbackup or dbsnapshot depending on which way around you are doing it. The source should be the type of backup you are sending offsite.
