TSM 6.2 AIX and IBM MidRange Storage queue_depth and max_xfer_size question

Hey gang,

What are you guys doing these days with hdisk queue_depth settings and adapter max_xfer_size, and num_cmd_elems settings?

We are setting up the new TSM 6.2 server on AIX 7 and are running on 8Gbps Adapters to a diskpool of about 10 TB. 20 LUNS total.

I'd be interested in seeing what performance tuning you are all doing.

The defaults are queue_depth=16 and max_xfer_size=100000 and num_cmd_elems=500

Not quite that far on the bleeding edge... especially with AIX 7

But we will be glad to see some stats after your experiment on the settings. However, the parameters you publish seems to be a reasonable middle of the road conservative starting point.

Post your tuning results - we love to see how AIX 7 performs.
