Hello guys,

As my title goes, we are having such problem for the past few days and I got no where to find the solution.

We have already power cycle the TSM and the server but still we are having the same problem.

Any inputs are very welcome.

BTW, here are the logs that we are getting:

11.08.09 15:37:50.55 LIB/ERR <F5 94 > HE: drive unload timeout
11.08.08 22:32:56.00 LIB/ERR <F5 94 > HE: drive unload timeout
11.08.08 08:53:00.68 LIB/ERR <F5 95 > HE: drive unload timeout
11.08.07 18:04:33.51 LIB/ERR <F5 95 > HE: drive unload timeout
...

Thank you and regards,

You should provide more info when asking about error messages.

When does this occur and how does it manifest in TSM?
Does it happen at the beginning or at the end of a server operation?
Is this affecting some or all volumes?
How many drives does the library have?

Here's what I'd do:

1) power cycle library
2) run library self-diagnostics, see if mounting and unmounting works for all drives.
3) update library firmware to latest version
4) update controller firmware to latest version
5) update library drivers to latest version

#4 and #5 are not likely to solve the problem as it seems that the message is returned by the library firmware, meaning driver and controller are probably not an issue but it's probably the first thing your hardware vendor will ask you so you might as well do it.

It could be a mechanical glitch or a hardware failure. Self-diag should tell you if this is true. Maybe a tape is stuck in a drive or has problems ejecting. Open the library and see if there are any obvious problems with the drive mechanism. Don't do anything that might void your warranty :)

If problem persists, contact your hardware vendor.
