Hello,

Using tdp_r3 for db2 to move database backups and logs to TSM server.

There are two copygroup types in TSM - "backup" and "archive". If we use ba client it depends on dsmc command - "backup" makes backups, "archive" makes archives.

What type we get when we move data using tdp_r3 - "backup" or "archive" ?
(I must know which TSM copygroup policy applies to tdp_r3 sent data)

thanks,
Vilius

I think its the DB files go to backup and the logs go to archive, use the redbook to confirm.
Also
q occ SERVER_DB2
This will show the TYPE column with backup/archive etc.

TSM for ERP works differently from the TSM for Databases client.

BOTH log and database backups are archives to TSM.

Ah yes its R3 you are correct. Same with R3 on Oracle.
