TDP V5.4 for windows 64 bit or 32bit question?

To all,

I have a customer who has installed TDP for oracle (windows) on a 64bit machine. The install looks succsessful. The Oracle database is 32 Bit 10G. The TDP user and install doc mentions the "oracle bit size" is not always the bit size of the operating system. Then further in this doc for requirements it lists 32 bit os uses 32 bit Oracle and 64bit os uses only 64 bit Oracle. there is no selection for 32 bit Oracle? Does anyone have experence with TDP for Oracle on windows 64 bit? All my experience hasd been with Oracle TDP on AIX and I'm really at a loss to figure this out. When the rman script is run it fails with media layer errors


RMAN -03009 failure of allocate command....
ORA-19554 error allocating device....
ORA-27211 failure to load media management library

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

64-bit Windows requires 64-bit Oracle. You cannot mix. In AIX or UNIX you can have 32-bit and 64-bit Oracle on a 64-bit OS.

For your help. I will now talk with the customer and see if they want to upgrade the Oracle to 64 bit or come up with another solution.

I am using TSM6.2 client (win32bit) and TSM6.2 server(Win64bit). Whle trying to take RMAN backup I encountered following error:
