Hi Guys, do you know if we need to have LotusNotes server running if we wanta do the nsf file TDP restore?
Or the question could be: can we do the nsf file TDP restore when lotusnotes server isn't up?
thanks in advance

I never use the Notes GUI but from a command line it could care less if the Server is running because it does not restore it as an active DB. At least no in my experience. When I run my restores they don't get restored as .nsf file. I forget the extension it uses but they are not available to the Notes Server until you open them in the application.

i think to do a successful restore you need at least 1 alternate domino server, as you can read in the
Tivoli®Storage Manager for MailData Protection for Lotus Domino book -> "How to perform an alternate server restore for NSF databases".

the original node dont have to be online but you need some files of it (server.id, ini)

and you need the tdp domino agent on the alternate server.
