Hi all,

could any one help me out in configuring TDP for oracle on oracle RAC server.

i used to configure TDP for oracle on single instance oracle server. But to configure oracle server( 2 instance) finds difficulty for me.

kindly suggest me some references and let me know the specific areas/files where the settings to be changed.

I believe all you need is an stanza for each instance you run. I have mine running TDP in each one of my RAC servers, the DBAs then configure the instance they want TDP to look for.

I just installed a 2 node Oracle RAC cluster.
hostname1
hostname2

All I did was install/configure TDP client on hostname1.
I think that's all that is required. I don't think you need to backup the
other nodes in the RAC cluster, just backup one.

Anyone please correct me if I'm doing this wrong as I just started testing this.

Hi,

As far as my knowledge, what I heard is... U need to install data protection for oracle on both oracle RAC server and configuration has to be done(tdpo.opt,scheduling). After then its enough to backup one server(Tsmclient1) out of two (Tsmclient1 and tsmclient2)

Now my question is ..(1) Is that correct way of configuration?
(2) what is the advantage lies in this?
(3) In future if restoration happens to tsmclient2 .Shall v restore the data to the non backed up server(Tsmclient2) ?
