We are exporting tdp files for disaster recovery. The policy had 21 versions with 3 weeks retention ,with the idea to keep only 3 weeks of data for DR.
However the tdp setting are making unique filenames, so there is 1 version per file and
besides changing the policy to 1 version is there another way to clean it up?
I ran a query to print all the LL_names and the timestamps for them to run delete statements for the filenames sorted by creation date this should work for the regular client
(i.e unix, win) .Will it work for tdp?
Any suggestions will be appreciated,
Thank you,
Alex.

if you wanted to reten the file 21 days

you can configured like this

Versions Data Exists NOLIMIT
Versions Data Deleted NOLIMIT
Retain Extra Versions 21
Retain Only Version 21

if you are using tdp for oracle tsm policy requirements is;
verdeleted=0
retonly=0

and frequency, verexists, retextra, mode or serialization parameters not works for tdp oracle backups. you must configure your rman's data retention policy (to recovery window of 21 days good for you)
