hi

your storage groups is mounted ?
is he active ?

maybe you can show the dsm.opt , that can help more

In the ...tsm\TDPExchange folder, examine the option file used for the Exchange Agent (TDP).... this is seperate to the dsm.opt found in the ...\tsm\baclient folder.

I remember once, I had a similar issue ... I edited the sample options file for the exchange TDP and at the bottom added and INCLUDE statement...

In the form of 'include ExchangeServerName\ExchangeStorageGroupName\* MGMTCLASSNAME'

Then all was ok.

Cause If any database within the Exchange Server StgGroup is dismounted, Data Protection for Exchange fails the backup. This is intentional. See Solution section for more details. Solution When the Data Protection for Exchange GUI is used to back up a storage group that contains a database that is off-line, error message ACN5798E displays with the text "hResult=0xc80004b3" returned from the Exchange server. This "hResult" text is defined as: hrDatabaseNotFound - The database does not exist. This is due to the fact that the database is off-line and cannot be accessed for the backup. To avoid attempting to back up an off-line database with the Data Protection for Exchange GUI, expand the storage group in the window to view the list of databases and the on-line or off-line status of each database.

When the Data Protection for Exchange command-line interface is used to back up a storage group that contains a database that is off-line, this error message displays: "ACN5073E None of the storage groups entered are in a state to be backed up."

Regardless of whether the Data Protection for Exchange GUI or command-line client is used, backups fail if any of the databases in the Exchange storage group are off-line. Data Protection for Exchange is designed to fail the backup in this situation and will not attempt to back up the other databases in the same storage group. This is the normal behavior since Data Protection uses TSM policy management settings and needs to maintain a consistent number of versions for all the databases in that storage group.

If Data Protection for Exchange only backed up those databases that are on-line, (for example just 3 out of the 4 databases in a storage group), this backup would replace the prior backup that is saved on the TSM Server. Depending on the TSM Policy settings, this could allow the prior backup to expire and the current backup version would not contain the database that was off-line. As a result of this TSM Server Policy setting in regard to expiration, data could be lost.

When either error (ACN5798E or ACN5073E) displays, make sure that all the databases are on-line (mounted) and then try to back up the storage group again.

If you need to back up a storage group that contains a database that is off-line, perform a Data Protection for Exchange DBCOPY type backup. The Database Copy (DBCOPY) type backup can be used to back up a specific database or databases. As a result, the DBCOPY type backup provides the capability to obtain a back up for only those databases in the storage group that are on-line (and therefore accessible).
