Folks
I'm backing up exchange server. 300 gigs+

I'm working with the admin right now.
He has configured the c:\excfull.cmd

tdpexcc backup * full ... ...

Should the FULL be changed to INC OR should I have two schedules
During the week INC and do a weekend full

My Policy is

Versions data exists 30
Versions data deleted 30
Retain Extra Versions 30
Retain Only 60

It is working but I'm afraid that I will run out of room.

Thanks

Hi.

We run an INCR everyday, except Saturday, where i run a FULL. We also run, First Saturday of each month a Monthly full.

We have 5 Exchange Servers, each at about ~200gb

Incr are kept 35days
Weekly full 2years
Monthly full...ouch...7years...

What do you mean by running out of space? Within your library?

thanks

Thanks for the reply
My library has enough space now, 8T left.
Were currently backup up a total of 400 gigs a day, that is all systems. Exchange is the BIG one next to a LOG server that backups 80 gigs a day.

I figure that we need to run a inc and then a full, but I thought the TDP kept up too 8-9 iterations.
Right now I need 30 days worth.
What is your policy set too?
Do you run a schedule from the Exchange server(ie run a schedule task) or place the exchange in a schedule on Tivoli?
Right now I placed the exchange server in a schedule and then it calls the exfull.cmd on the exchange server

Thanks for the information and if you have any other details please post.
