Tape Drive/Library Emulator VTL

Hi!!! everybody,
I am a bit new to TSM Server administration and HP DataProtector now So I need to learn a bit more about both.

Since I don't have a test environment for TSM /HP backup/archive library I have been looking for some virtual test environment. However I could not achieve any success so far. Does any of you have any idea about how to setup a tsm test environment which also has a tape library? Maybe HP DataProtector.I really need to learn about operation regarding tape volumes (checkin, checkout, labeling, etc.) Cos' in case of disaster iam supposed to handle everything.

You can start by reading Red books about TSM which you can download from IBM's website.

Really, going through a TSM setup is far too long for any post on this forum.

Even i thought about downloading Tape library simulators when I was learning TSM. But it's not available

It will be very useful for all the new learners who would try to simulate a 3584 or 3495 or a storagetech library.

Does any one aware of any simulators?

Redbook is a good place to start and also look online at the IBM site for IBMTape Devices...
Also a TSM beginning class should help..
