Hello everyone,
I have a question about the methods of scheduling backups.
Our environment was appointed approximately 1,700 servers (oracle, windows, linux, unix, sqlserver).
Our backup window is from 18:00 pm to 06:00 am.
Today we have some scheduling groups, for example:
windows_lan_20_pm
linux_lan_22: pm
Etc...
The method inbound server specific scheduling group is based on an assessment of the balance amount in each group scheduling servers.
My question: Is there are defined methods or recommendations of how to define scheduling groups?
I know it depends on the amount of data backed up each server, our network infrastructure (Lan / Lan-free) and so on.
I want to know if there guides / general methods to the general idea?
Regards,
Ido
