Hi there,

I have got a strange behavior with a virtual volume server. I set up everything like described in the Admin guide (defined devclass, registered node type server and created archive copygroup), but when I try to run a backup stgp into a virtual volume it comes up with an error that Server blank (RS6000/AIX) is not known, connection refused -> and something that server to server communication is not configured for that server. But if I run ping server XXXX from target to sourcen and vice versa it comes back ok. I am running TSM 5.5.

Any ideas why that does not work?

Thanks a lot.

Cheers,
Marcus

Make sure your TSM server passwords used in server-server communications is set the same. Each will require the node type=server - and your Device class is a File type.
Enable crossplatform communications as well.

Hope this helps

Thanks Stephen,

I solved it now. Simply got confused with the def server serverpassword/password and nodename during creation of server2server coms.

Cheers,
Marcus
