Hi,

I need a little help in getting my SAP for R/3 brbackups and brarchives to expire. Currently, I can see through the backfm tool that these backups are still in our system even though they should have been expired weeks ago.

I have set the: tsm copy group to retver=9999; the initSAP.sid expir_period parameter to 30, and the max_versions to 1. I thought this would allow SAP to monitor and expire its own files but no success. When I view the R/3 backups through the backfm tool I see TSM's 9999day (27 years) expiration value is applied to the backup.

I don't know what I am doing wrong. How do I give an expiration period of x days to brarhive and brbackup backups. I think I have the right files but maybe I missed a parameter.

Any help would be appreciated,

Dan

we run without any special settings in the sid.sap file

instead we set the versions parameter in the initSID.utl to the number of versions we want to keep, (MAX_VERSIONS 30).ö this has proved to work just fine for us....
