Restore Failed

I'm facing below problem while trying to restore data from tape. please see the error and looking forward for your valuable suggestion.

Hello. Please check for the retention policy of the node. I think the files you are trying to restore have been removed by the expiration process.

Hi,

You could have volumes with damaged files.

For all stgpools related stgpools, type this


show damaged <stgpoolname>

If anything is wrong, it will tell you which files and volumes you need to fix with audit vol

There are probably not that many files belonging to the node in question.

You could try to list them, and see if they are there at all. If you have other data within the same node, this may take a while

select * from backups where node_name='YOUR NODE'

What does the TSM server actlog say around that time?
If you run "backfm -p /oracle/PES/112_64/dbs/initPES.utl" can you find the Label you are trying to restore on the left side?

ps. you are still restoring the same DB as last week?

i'm trying to restore db of ECCDEV to SANDBOX. Here is my query, that is. I'm taking regular backup of ECCDEV but recently we went for another development. if our new development failed then we want to go backup our previous state of ECCDEV. for this we have taken a backup last month which retention period is 30 days and 5 more days remain to expire. In this situation how can i get/restore my that backup (which were backed up one month ago) after 6 months. this is my current scenerio, for this i'm trying to restore db to another node and want to take backup with new policy.

please suggest without restoring to another node how can i get that backup.

Shame you gave an explicit retention with it. I normally let SAP backups archive to management class with no retention.
The SAP client can keep track of the amount of versions themselves (in the initSID.bki).
