Restore DB from a TSM V5.4.3 DB to a TSM V6.1.3?

Is it possible to restore a DB from TSM V5.4.3 db backup to a TSM V6.1.3 without running the DSMUPgrad on the V5.4.3 first? Thanks.

Both servers are Windows 2003 Ent.

No. You have to run the upgrade utility to cross the V5 to V6 boundary. The legacy database has been replaced by DB2 and therefore all the data needs to be moved between databases. This is what the upgrade utility does.

1. Install 5.4
2. Restore the TSM DB
3. Upgarde the TSM server to latest 5.5
4. Upgrade the DB to v5.5
5. Uninstall TSM server
6. Install TSM server v6.
7. Run the upgrade utility
