Hello -

We are considering using virtual volumes at a remote site. Primary use will be for RMAN backups. We currently back up to disk pools, migrate to a tape pool, and backup to a copy pool for DR.

AIX 4.3.3, soon to be 5.2

TSM Server 4.2, soon to be 5.1

I suppose this will involve identifying the remote disk volumes on our local server, then setting things up so that our local tape pool gets backed up the the remote disk pool, and we'll continue to copy the local tape pool to an off site tape pool fo DR.

Is that the best way to populate the off site disk pools?

What needs to be done to grant the remote server access to the data?

Any info is appreciated...

Thanks!
