Hello !

I have put in the library tapes that were out that are years old to see if the data they had was valid.
I have made an inventory of the library when introducing them, and an audit from TSM.
After this, the tapes were checked and marked as vaultretrieve.

I understand that TSM when reviewing the tape, has detected that it is expired data and therefore marks it as vaultretrieve right?

03/21/2024 09:32:20 ANR8532I Volume G10523L4 in storage pool has been checked
into library IBMLIB with media state VAULTRETRIEVE.

Thanks!

Once the data on the tape have expired and the primary tape have been reclaimed, the TSM/SP Server will update the DRM tape from vault to vaultretrieve. Vaultretrieve just tells us that these tapes are ready to be brought back on site to use as scarch tape.
Once on site, we updated the status to onsiteretrive, the TSM/SP Server will forget about these tapes until we check the tapes into the library as scratch.
